The Crucible Post 1

In The Crucible there is an obvious change in power. Looking back over history we see that woman had absolutly no power what so ever! They were to be seen and not heard. But in this scenerio the woman are the one making the accusations. The puritans of Salem listen to them without hesitance because all they care about is finding the witchs. One of the woman that holds a lot of power is Abigail. She is very controlling and manipultive to whom ever will follow her. Power seems, in this story to be held by woman, which is unusual but it is most likely to change again.

How Would People of Today to Respond to the Sermon?

The people of the 1700s were absolutly petrofied. Today with all the movies, books, T.V. shows, and people that are crazy. If Edwards was to preach this sermon if he actually got through to the people they might be very afraid.  Probably just as afraid maybe even more. We saw how poeple reacted to the day the world was supposedly going to end. Some took it very seriously and some blew it off. I think that if it were to be preached to the people of 2011 it might take a lot more this time to win over the minds of the people.

"Sinners of the Hands of an Angry God" Post

The video is describing the sermon delivered by John Edwards. He produced Americans with a terrifying idea of God's wrath. To this day it is some of the most amazing and terrifying literature the U.S.A has ever heard. Even though Edwards wrote this terrifying piece, it is said that people who were close to him said he was a loving father. faithful husband, and generous friend. Even people that study literature every day are scared when they hear the piece. The people of  the 1700's were terrified for their lives! The sermen is a very dark and scary piece that is still studied today.

John Edwards wrote the sermen as a warning to the Americans. I think the sermen will be about the apocolypse. That when judgment day comes God will be very picky on who he will take to heaven with him. I think Edwards described Hell in his sermen, and that most people would be going there because they sinned so much. John Edwards prayed, prayed, and prayed that his people would stop sinning. But no one can stop people from sinning.

Descriptive Blog

http://hidefwallpaper.org/sunset/
The picture above is of a lake. The lake is very calm, or still. The lake is still there is a perfect reflection. There is also a crescent moon hanging in a very deep and serene blue sky. The moon is thin, and the cresecent is hanging on the bottom. But, just below it is a small sun, a very bright and yellow, and small compared to the moon. Just below that would be moutains slightly covered by snow. The lake is covered by a light mist. You can visibly see, a clear sun in the lakes reflection. The sky has three colors in it, from the top of the picture the sky just keeps getting lighter. The top of the sky is a dark navy blue, the middle is a lighter blue, not quite a sky blue but lighter then navy blue. After that, the sky turns to a light, peachy pink, which is the final color. The entire picture is all in all the photo is calm and peaceful

Expectations About Honors American Lit.

As an Honors American Literature class, the students are expected to work to the best of their ability.

The children chose an honors English class because the students wanted a challenge. The class is expected to be a difficult and challenging, but, rewarding. The kids put into honors English should want a challenge, and everything the class does, writing, reading a project, it should always be good and well thought out. As soon as the students walk through the door teachers have expectations. The expectations are higher then a regular English. The teachers expect the writing to more colorful, more entertaining and cleasned. The reading should be faster and more efficiant. The teachers of an honors English expect more of honors students. The students should expect much of the teachers as well.
Students should expect just as much of teachers as the teachers do the students. If the students walk into an honors English class and it is easy? Then the teacher, as an honors teacher is not doing his or her job very well. Most students do not want the class to be easy, because when the time comes for an A.P. English, the kids fail because they were not prepared! That will not go over well. Honors English is supposed to prepare a child for an Advanced Placement English, and it is the teachers job, to prepare. Students in an honors class definetly should expect a hard class, a Pre-A.P. class.
Coming into a new hongors English class the students should know that they are going to work very hard. The essays should be lonnger. The reading should be done without complaints. Everything should be efficiant yet challenging. The expextaitions of honors kids are high. If the kids are placed in the class, then they should be able to reach the goals. The expectations are not to high that they cannot be reached. It is a reasonable height for expectations.

Blog about me!

I know this girl, she's a regular teenager, spontaneous, takes risks, plays sports, likes to have fun with her friends! But there are a lot of things that difference her from the rest! Like the fact that she live, eats, breathes dance. She loves her friends, she would do anything for them, leggitimitly anything! This girl, is me, Anadahlia J. Holbrook, but Dahlia for short. And this is all about me.
Dance is my life. It's not like one of those T.V. shows or movies where the parent forces their kid to dance. I choose to do, i have given up a lot to dance. I take eight classes a week, about nine hours a week. Not once do i complain, even when I'm sick I try to pick myself up and go to class! I don't just love it either, I want it to be the rest of my life. It sounds childish but when i grow up I want to be on Broadway (maybe), and open up my very own dance studio. I want to choreograph a bunch of little girl, go to competitions, the whole shabang! But I have to take baby steps.
I want to start my  dance career by attending Michigan State University, and studying dance. I would also very much want to be on the dance team at the university. That is, if I make the cut for the team. Of course my dream school would be Julliard. We all know how it's practically impossible to get in. I will try my best, and I will dream big, but realistically I probably won't.  And that is ok, becuase Michigan State is a wonderfull school! So dance is my life, but i love my friends just as much as well!
My friends mean the world to me. I would do anything, absolutly anything for them. That's how much i value my relationships. My friends and I have had our good times and bad, but we always make it through. I have this one friend, she is practically my sister. Not just emotionally, but physically. We share clothes, we have sleepovers all the time. We basically live together! I love her like a sister, but I am also kind of mean to her, but like a sister.
That is everything about me Dahlia!
