Huck Finn Post #2

Huckleberry Finn and Jim have a very close relationship, like a father son relationship. Someone would describe a father being protective of his son. Father would like to protect his son from the ugly things in the world. To protect the innocence and keep a child light on their feet a father would sheil their son. Jim does this to Huck a lot. "I didn't look at him. Jim throwed some old rags over him, but he needn't done it (Twain 57);" Jim puts the rags over the dead mans face so cover up the severity of the gruesomness. Since Huck is just a young boy he should'nt have to wittness death and things as awful death. What Jim does is something a father would do for their son.
There is no doubt in anyones mind that Huck is the definition of immature. In every relationship theres always a mature one and an immature one. Huck is immature, Jim is mature. Like a father Jim looks out for Huck and like a son Huck doesn't pay much attention to Jim. Huck doesn't listen to him much, he ignores him and does what he wants. When Huck wants to go on the wreck that gets them both in loads of trouble. "But Jim was dead against it at first. He says:I doan want to go fool'n 'long er no wrack (71)." Jim was trying to keep Huck from doing something stupid from doing something immature. Like a mature father looks out for his son.
