Faust Legend

The Forbidden Fruit
By: Dahlia Holbrook
High School. The place every person must endure at one point in their life. The people that can make it out alive are extremely lucky. Even if they make it out as the same person they can be considered lucky.
The journey that I will take you on is in Chapel Hill North Carolina, at Chapel Hill High School. Just a typical public high school, in a typical place. You have everything a normal school would have, social classes. Starting at popular it slowly moves down to losers, then of course there’s everything in between. However, at Chapel Hill High School there was one more class higher then the usual popular. There’s not a name for this clique. It’s extremely exclusive, only a few people, no more then eight. Never more never less, always eight. But we’ll get there later.
The school was very unique looking. The pillars in the front lawn that go up to wear the top of the school is pointed. There’s a courtyard where everyone eats lunch, and there’s one tree in the corner that grows apples. It’s the actually the weirdest thing its on farthest end, the perfect spot, the sun hits it exactly right.
On September 24, 2005 it was Blair Thompson’s first day at Chapel Hill High. She moved from Northville Michigan and it was her junior year. She had beautiful long chestnut brown hair; Blair was the kind of girl that could roll out of bed with perfect hair. She had beautiful sparkling light blue eyes that took up her entire face because they were so big.

And the typical idea is that the tanner your skin is the better, but in Blair’s case the contrast with her dark hair, light eyes, and pale skin is what made her so beautiful.
Anyone that has moved to a different school understands that it’s hard. Not knowing where you’re going, having no friends, and not knowing a single person. It could be considered one of the hardest things someone has to go through. This was definitely going to be an experience for Blair. At her old school she was the classified as the ‘it girl’. Every single girl in Northville High School envied her, every girl wanted to look, act, and talk like her. While every girl wanted to be her every boy wanted to be with her. Blair had a way of putting everyone she talked to under her spell, on more then one occasion just by looking at her someone could fall under her spell. However, everyone has flaws; Blair had a tendency to be a bit mean. Okay, by a bit, I mean extremely, Blair was extremely mean. She was the girl that would spread rumors, for no reason. She would call a girl fat to her face. She could turn everyone in the whole school against one person with just a snap of her fingers. Blair didn’t mind being hated, she liked possessing fear.
So it was Blair’s first day of school at Chapel Hill High. She had made it through the morning and into lunch. One girl invited Blair to sit with her at lunch, her name was Evelyn, but apparently everyone called her Eve. Blair was supposed to meet Eve in the courtyard on the bench. Blair made her way toward where she thought was the courtyard. She suddenly felt as though someone’s eyes burning a hole into the back of her skull. Blair slowly looked over shoulder to see who it was; it appeared that no one was staring at her. When she turned back around to continue walking she came to a stop because a boy had found his way into her path. He was very attractive; his curly brown hair fell just slightly into his breathtaking not blue, not green, but almost turquoise eyes. He was very tan as well, but what really took her breath away was his voice, it was masculine, and velvety. “Hey, I’m Adam are you knew here?” he said with his red lips curling up into a seductive smile. Blair smirked back, “What gave it away?”
“I think I would have remembered someone as pret-“
Blair cut him off by placing a single manicured finger up to his lips. “If you think you have a chance with me, sorry to burst your bubble, but not even in your dreams would you have a chance.” Blair smiled once more and moved around him. She knew he was probably still watching in complete shock and she was proud of herself for leaving him hanging. She kept on walking looking for Eve; she took maybe five more steps before there was a light and delicate tap on her shoulder. Expecting it to be Adam trying to figure out what he did wrong, she smiled and turned around, but not to see Adam, there was a girl standing there. Blair looked her up and down, this random girl made Blair very uncomfortable, because it was obvious that this stranger was prettier then Blair. She was wearing strappy pink stilettos, her legs were so tan it looked like she slept on the sun and she was wearing a short, pink pleated mini skirt with a black tank top. Her face was heart shaped and her smile showed off her very plump, bright red lips . Her cheekbones were perfectly placed, and her eyes were chocolate brown, and she was wearing contacts and her hair was black as ebony.  “I saw what happened with Adam, I’m very impressed. Not many people can resist his charm.” Her head was cocked as if she was reading everything in Blair’s mind. “And I should care what you think because?” Blair was now scowling at this girl, mostly out of envy. The girl laughed, “Where are my manors, my name is Santana.” Blair was now pissed off, what she said wasn’t supposed to be funny. Santana’s hand was out waiting for Blair to shake her hand, she ignored the gesture. In Santana’s other hand was holding a bright red apple that had one single bite taken out of it. Blair then looked back to Santana’s face. She was smiling like a little kid that knew the best secret in the whole entire world. “I like you.” She said while she grabbed Blair’s wrist and dragged her over to the apple tree where seven other girls were sitting down all eating red apples. Blair was so bewildered she was speechless. The other girls were all lost in their conversation, it was to quiet to make out what they were saying. Santana sat farther to the left and patted the ground for Blair to sit. Santana pulled an apple off the tree and handed it to Blair. Blair sat down and accepted the apple. This was literally the strangest thing she had ever encountered. Santana started to speak, “So I have a proposal for you.” She said taking another bite. Blair was curiosity was spiked, what could she possibly have to offer? Blair raised an eyebrow and Santana continued, “I know all about you, I know that you are from Northville high school. I know that you were the most popular girl that school has ever known. And I know that you love being in control and having power.” As Santana smiled Blair’s already huge eyes grew ten times bigger. Blair was thrown how did this random stranger know so much? “What’s your proposal?” Blair looked down at the apple and back at Santana. Santana leaned in close, “I can give you everything you’ve ever wanted, you could rule the school and be the hottest girl in the school.” Blair thought about it, it would be nice. She knew she was hot but to rule the school after just twenty-four hours, that’s an accomplishment. “What’s the catch?” There was always a catch and Blair knew that. Santana smiled “All you have to do is give me your soul, by taking a bite of the apple.” Blair looked back at the apple. “Who are you?” Santana laughed and flashed her teeth, and looked up at the tree. “See all these apples?” Blair nodded, “What about them?”
“These are everyone’s payments to me.”
“So who does that make you?” Blair was more intrigued then she had ever been in her entire life. Santana was reaching for her eye and took out a contact. It appeared that she was wearing brown color contacts. Underneath the brown was a deep dark blood red. “Think about it. Think about my name.” Santana said while narrowing her eyes. Blair thought about it. S-A-N-T-A-N-A… Santana sighed “Santana, Satan?” Everything clicked but before she could even hesitate Santana shoved the apple into Blair’s mouth. The deed was done, no going back. Blair disappeared after that no ones knows where.
September 24, 2030 it was Hannah’s first day at Chapel Hill High School where she met beautiful, tan, brown eyed Santana…
